Method
The count of hosts that share one root domain and carry at least one detection. One metric of 71 in the registry, 64 of them measured on 12 Sept 2026.
A host is a distinct root domain and host pair in the crawl, and the root itself is one of them. A host is counted once at least one snapshot of it carries a detection.
A subdomain is counted on the page of its root and answered on its own page. Each host keeps its own verified date and the root never inherits one, so the freshness on a root page is the freshness of the hosts under it.
The 191,888,955 hosts in the landed snapshot, over 169,380,989 root domains.
11.9% of hosts are subdomains, and a root that has any averages 2.78 of them, with a median of 1 and a maximum of 1,892,597. The row cap on the domain answer is built for that maximum, not for the median.
