Terms of service

Last updated 12 September 2026

1. The service

Stack Lookup (stacklookup.ai) shows which companies run which technologies, since when, with first and last verified dates and dated change. It is operated by Veridion and its data is provided by Veridion ("Data by Veridion"). The service consists of public pages, a REST API and an MCP server.

Counts shown on the service are measured on the web data Veridion has crawled, and every count says what it counts and as of when. Where a count is measured on a sample rather than the whole, the page says so and gives the multiplied estimate beside it. History is verified since 2020. The service does not offer a determination of any kind: no approval, clearance, underwriting or investment view.

2. Accounts and keys

API access requires a key issued to a verified work email address. One key per email. You are responsible for keeping the key confidential and for all use made with it. Keys are hashed at rest; a lost key is replaced, not recovered.

We may suspend a key that is used in breach of these terms, that exceeds its tier limits repeatedly, or that shows patterns of abuse, and will say why on request.

3. Tiers, credits and limits

The free tier includes 5,000 credits a month, 1,000 free calls a day and a rate limit of 5 requests per second, with lists capped at 100 rows and no export. Paid tiers (Starter, Growth, Scale) carry the credits, rate limits and features listed on the pricing page; Enterprise terms are agreed separately.

Credits are consumed per endpoint as documented. Credits on subscription tiers do not roll over. Pay-as-you-go packs are valid for 12 months. A failed lookup costs nothing. Fees are stated in USD, exclusive of taxes, and are not refunded for partial months.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the data in your own products, analyses and workflows, including caching responses for your own use. You may not resell or redistribute the raw dataset, mirror the service, or use it to build a competing technographics database.

You may not evade rate limits, share keys across organisations, scrape pages in place of the API, or use the data to identify or profile private individuals. The service contains no people or contact data and must not be combined with such data to that end.

5. Data and accuracy

Detections are observations of public web pages at dated crawl snapshots. A technology marked live was present on the latest snapshot; a technology marked not live was absent from it. Snapshots are irregular, so a first or last verified date is a bound, not the exact day a technology was installed or removed.

Company records are resolved from public sources and Veridion's Entity Knowledge Graph. We correct substantiated errors on request (see /contact) but make no warranty that any record is complete or current. Do not rely on the service as the sole basis for a decision with legal or financial consequences.

6. Intellectual property

The service, its taxonomy, documentation and the compilation of the data are owned by Veridion. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the data as permitted by your tier. Attribution "Data by Veridion" is required where the data is shown publicly.

7. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Veridion excludes warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability for a paid tier is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim; for the free tier it is limited to 100 USD.

8. Changes and termination

We may change the service, the taxonomy, the endpoints and these terms. Material changes to the API are announced in the docs with a notice period; the OpenAPI document is the contract. You may stop using the service at any time; we may terminate access for breach with notice where practicable.

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania. Disputes go to the courts of Bucharest, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where they apply.
